Maestro Donato Semeraro
The Festival Artistic Director's is Donato Semeraro.
Donato Semeraro: teacher, horn player and composer. For years he has conducted research on didactic aspects of the horn, enhancing his understanding of various schools of teaching.
He is one of the authors of the Scomegna and Volontè & co editions. He is also an award-winning conductor and composer in many national and international contests, and he performs both in Italy and abroad.
He is a composer and arranger for various orchestras and ensembles. He also works for the Police Band and for the Gomalan Brass Quintet, just to name a couple. He was a musical consultant at the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities.
As horn teacher, he has taught at “F. Petrarca” High School of music in Arezzo, “F. Torrefranca” Conservatory in Vibo Valentia, “Scientia et ars” International Polytechnic University in Vibo Valentia, and “G. da Venosa” Conservatory in Potenza. He is currently the principal horn teacher at the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari.
